8-week after-school theatre program

January 7 - February 28, 2026

This after-school program is designed for students who are ready to dive into the world of theatre and take the stage. Students will focus on character development, improvisational skills, and how to prepare for an audition, all while learning and rehearsing their individual roles for Junie B. Jones JR The Musical. 

At the end of the 8 weeks, these young actors will perform onstage in two public performances of a fully-staged production of Junie B. Jones JR. The Musical on the Cottage Theatre stage.

Schedule:

Weeks 1 - 7: January 7 - February 20

     Wednesdays and Thursdays 4:00 – 5:30 pm

Week 8: February 23 - 28

     Rehearsals: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 – 5:30 pm

     Performances: 

     Friday February 27, 7:00 pm (call time 6:30 pm)

     Saturday February 28 at 2:30 pm (call time 2:00 pm)

All participants will be part of the cast, and attendance is required for both performances. Each participant will receive one complimentary ticket for their family. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at $10 each.

Cancellation policy: $25 non-refundable deposit. If you cancel before January 1 you will get a full refund excluding the $25 deposit. If you cancel between January 1 and January 6 you will receive a 50% refund, excluding the deposit. If you cancel after January 7 there will be no refund given.

Camp dates and time:

Monday, June 23 - Friday, June 27, from 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Learn all about acting, singing and dancing in this fun-filled camp designed especially for younger performers. SKIT Camp is appropriate for beginning actors; absolutely no prior experience is necessary. At the end of the week, students will share their new skills in an informal showcase for family and friends.

In this two-week performance camp, students will rehearse and present an original melodrama in two public performances on the Cottage Theatre stage. Instruction in acting, singing and dance technique will help all campers develop their craft.

This year we're reviving local playwright Keith Kessler's original melodrama Slabtown vs. Lemati...OR The Feud that Made "Going Postal" Popular.

Our Stupendous Performance Academy for Real Kids, or S.P.A.R.K. for short, is designed to give participants a thorough grounding in acting, singing, and movement technique. The young actors will create and rehearse an original showcase to be presented on the Cottage Theatre stage at the end of the week.
